The rules of the World Garage community

These Rules apply to each and all registered users of the site. By using the site, you fully agree with the letter and intent of this document and agree to abide by the Rules to the full extent.

The main rule

You accept commitment to use faithfully the site and its applications. Any attempt to fake ratings, spamming, undocumented use of technology resources and any other actions that cause any type of damage to the service, its users, partners or advertisers are considered dishonest use.

The account of any user with history of violating the principle of fair use will be deleted with no notice or possibility of recovery.

Sign in

  • Create more than one account per one person.
  • Use a nickname with any kind of indecent meaning.
  • Upload any sexual content avatars, or avatars with indecent inscriptions, or those using photos of other people without their consent (aside from fictional characters, movie characters and world celebrities), stylized as interface elements.
  • Post any promotional content on your avatar (website addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, ICQ, etc.).
  • Fill in the fields "city", "name", "last name" with obscene or obviously inaccurate information.
  • Use a throw away mailbox, created by services like mailforspam.com or 10minutemail.com.Enter a nickname with any kind of indecent meaning.
  • Not to have any avatar or photo.
  • Not to fill the «About me» field.
  • To enter your real name and surname. In that case it will be easier for your friends to find you.
  • Not to use any simple passwords that coincide with your login or look like the following: 123456, asdfgh, qwerty, etc.
  • To upload your own photo or a neutral inoffensive picture as your avatar.
  • Fill in the «About me» field. It will strengthen your authority in the community.
  • Enter the address of a frequently used e-mail. In this way you will be able to easily reset your password in case you forget it.

Adding a car

  • Add bikes, ATVs, bicycles, scooters, toys and other non-cars. It goes against the concept of this site and is not funny.
  • Add a car that you are waiting for, your dream car, your friend/neighbor/ acquaintance's car, a company car, a rented car or a substitute car, as well as a car taken for test drive of any duration.
  • Enter obscene of obviously false data in the car description fields.
  • Add a car without photo of that exact car or its description.
  • Enter obscene words in any language in the «Comments to the car» field.
  • Add cars that you owned previously.
  • Publish information about your close relatives' cars (if it is a family car or its driving experience is enough to provide its detailed description or answer questions of other users).
  • Write a short story about your car, and then improve it any time you wish.
  • Decide not to enter its registration number or VIN-code.
  • Add a passenger car that is not presented in the site directory to the “Other brands” section.
  • Add a sports team car if you are that car's pilot (enter some details in the “Comments to the moderator” field while adding the car).
  • Write a detailed description of your car.
  • Write a clarifying comment while specifying its brand and model that will be displayed next to the car name.
  • Fill in the "Pick up" and "Engine capacity" fields.

Your car story

  • Violate the basic rules for preparing publications (link to the section).
  • Use another person's text (or its fragment), another person's review of a car, a description published on a manufacturer’s website, a car magazine article, etc.
  • Publish a text consisting of a simple list of packages as your car story.
  • Publish a story of another car, of a car that you do not own, a story of a topic unrelated to your car or any other text identified by a moderator as unrelated to the car you added.
  • Use a text that you previously published on another website as your car’s review.
  • Provide a detailed description of your car.
  • Split a long text into paragraphs in order to render it more readable.
  • Add subtitles to a text consisting of several thematic parts.Long text break into paragraphs - so it is easier to read.

Your car photos

  • Upload other people's photos: branded, from this site or from the Internet. Even if "mine is exactly the same". There are no exceptions to this rule.
  • Publish photos of bad quality, blurry images, as well as various drawings, illustrations, diagrams, 3D models and other images that are not photos of your car.
  • Upload edited photos with distorted look of the car. For example, with drawn or removed elements, added inscriptions or drawings, changed color, proportions, or any other “improvements” that do not really exist.
  • Use showroom, auction, dealer site photos only (even if this is your car).
  • Upload the same photo several times.
  • Place promotional or offensive inscriptions or inscriptions calling for any action on the site on your photos.
  • Place design elements and/or this site interface and/or operating system.
  • Post edited photos if photographic processing has not changed the look of your car.
  • Post professionally taken photos, provided that it is your car that is the object of photos.
  • Post photos of your car and people (man, women, children), if they do not go beyond the generally accepted morals.
  • Brush out your registration number if for any reason this site seems to you more dangerous than the real road.
  • Upload several photos: general view, passenger compartment, interior and exterior details.
  • Don’t misuse photo editors: in some cases, too much photographic processing has an opposite effect and edited photos worsen.
  • Use a photo, which you consider the best one as the main (primary) photo.
  • Use general view of your car as the main photo.

Comments to cars, blogs, logbooks

  • Leave short meaningless comments like “subscribed”, “come visit me”, “good car”, “cool pic”, “cool color”, etc.
  • Leave comments with obscene images, pornographic and erotic content images, images inciting any kind of discord or provoking squabbles or conflicting discussions.
  • Use any kinds of curses (do not try to mask them with special symbols, dots, by rearranging or omitting letters, or by means of any other tricks, they will not help you).
  • Use any kind of racist and/or nationalistic derogatory terms (yellow, Oriental, paki, brownie, nigger, tacohead, etc.). Even one such comment will result in the deletion of your account with no notice or possibility of recovery.
  • Excessive use of CAPITAL LETTERS.
  • Leave comments unrelated to a topic.
  • Discuss actions of a moderator or the site administration.
  • Flood, i.e. block a discussion with a stream of meaningless comments.
  • Insert links to your comments (they will be automatically highlighted)
  • Use <b> bold </b> (bold), <i> oblique </i> (oblique) and <s> crossed-out </s> (crossed-out) formatting tags.
  • Express your opinion or a question about a car under discussion in a more or less detailed way. It is for this purpose that comments serve.
  • If a specific question was addressed to you personally, do not create a new comment to answer it, but use the “Answer” link below the question. Only in this case your interlocutor will receive a notification of your answer.
  • Write correctly. Respect eyes and minds of other community members.
  • Praise or criticize a car in a correct and well-argued manner. Useful criticism is better than empty and meaningless praise.
  • If you mention other site users, use special tag <user name = "username">.

Communities

  • Fill a community with fake users in order to increase the number of community members.
  • Significantly change the format and themes of an existing community.
  • Create a community that violates the rules of content publication (link) (in such case the community will be completely deleted without notice and possibility of recovery).
  • Compete with similar communities already existing on the site.
  • Indicate a brand and a model or a city, if the subject of your community is related to them.
  • When creating a community of your city use the “WorldGarages + city name” template adopted on the website

Ads

  • Publish ads outside a dedicated section (link to the thrift shop).
  • Publish the same ad repeatedly, regardless of whether you place it in different regions or categories.
  • Publish buying, exchanging or searching for goods ads.
  • Publish more than 5 active ads.
  • Publish general promotional ads without any specific offer.
  • Place offers of services (instead of goods).
  • Publish another person's images of an item.
  • Violate general Site rules when creating an ad.
  • Sell any car spare parts and components.
  • Fill in most or all fields of a product description.
  • Provide a detailed product description.
  • Provide a detailed product description.
  • Publish informative photos.

Personal blog entries

  • Violate rules of content publication (link) (please, read the section carefully in order to avoid misunderstandings in the future).
  • Write on a topic unrelated to cars.
  • Avoid the use of titles: in this case the first few words of your text will automatically become a title. .
  • Write your own notes about anything. The most important is to write in an interesting way.
  • Attach your own photos to your notes. First of all, it attracts attention. Secondly, even the most interesting text without a picture does not provide readers with a complete understanding of a situation.

Car logbook entries

  • Violate rules of content publication (please, read the section carefully in order to avoid misunderstandings in the future).
  • Publish anything unrelated to your car. There is a personal blog dedicated to posts unrelated to your car.
  • Avoid the use of titles: in this case the first few words of your text will automatically become a title.
  • Place a link to a company business account in your post, provided that you have used their service or have bought their product.
  • Place a record of a car sale in its logbook.
  • Accurately indicate an entry tag, so that it is easier for other community members to find information of their interest.

Content publication

  • Use any kinds of curses (do not try to mask them with special symbols, dots, by rearranging or omitting letters, or by means of any other tricks, they will not help you).
  • Use any kind of racist and/or nationalistic derogatory terms (yellow, Oriental, paki, brownie, nigger, tacohead, etc.). Even one such comment will result in the deletion of your account with no notice or possibility of recovery.
  • Publish calls for any posts evaluation, subscription, support for any kind of contests or ratings.
  • Publish posts violating generally accepted morals and ethics or contradicting the philosophy of the site creators.
  • Copy-paste textual content from other sites. In case your post is supposed to use a third-party source material, the volume of a copied text should not exceed half of a total text volume and must be accompanied by an active hyperlink to the source(s).
  • Make excessive use of CAPITAL LETTERS, write unreadable rubbish, as well as “extend” the size of your text by means of special symbols.
  • Publish promotional ads or ads of any type outside a dedicated section.
  • Discuss a moderator's or the site administration's actions. The site rules and moderation are not subject to discussion.
  • Ask for money or collect any material goods for any purpose except for campaigns initiated or allowed by the Administration.
  • Publish images and photos, whose use is expressly forbidden by copyright holders or authors.
  • Publish anything (text, photo, video) inciting ethnic, gender, or religious strife. An account violating this rule will be deleted with no notice or possibility of recovery.
  • Publish political content, provoking controversial debates, inciting discord or cultivating negative emotions.
  • Publish adult content (link).
  • Quote anyone's personal correspondence (WorldGarages messages, e-mail, SMS, messengers) without their explicit consent.
  • Publish all kinds of "cool photos", "funny pictures", etc. downloaded from specialized sites. Publishing demotivators will result in your account ban with no notice.
  • Publish posts containing only links (this also applies to public communities), as well as publishing referral links of any kind (including so-called partner links).
  • Create single-type posts in more than one community.
  • Publishing a link to a car/blog/logbook in a community is considered spamming and is a subject to ban; publish posts advertising external sites and/or commercial activities – in this case your account will be deleted with no notice.
  • Use the following in your entries: branded photos of cars, movie stills, books and CDs covers, geographical maps fragments, screenshots of programs, world famous works of art images, celebrity photos and any photographic materials, whose free distribution is expressly permitted by their author or copyright holder.
  • Insert popular video hosting sites videos provided that they allow publishing their content on third-party's sites.
  • Split a long text into paragraphs (double click on Enter).
  • If you mention other site users, use special tag <user name = "username">..
  • In case your entry contains a lot of text and photos, arrange photos inside the text. Arrangement instructions are on the left side of the add form.
  • Insert videos from popular video hosting sites right into your entry. The related instruction is located on the left side of the add form.
  • Refrain from publishing a large amount of photos without accompanying text.

Publishing videos to blogs and logbooks

  • Publish videos (or their hyperlinks) containing: swear words, violent scenes, scenes of peoples' humiliation, adult content (link to section), scenes inciting religious or ethnic hatred, other people's personal information without their explicit consent.
  • Publish promotional videos except for world brand advertisement.
  • Publish videos of other people from popular video hosting sites if they do not violate the WorldGarages rules.
  • Use the video insertion feature for its intended purpose: share your own video notes about cars with other users.
  • Briefly describe the content of your video in any post containing a video, so that each user decides whether it is of their interest or not

Adult Content

  • Publish photos, images and videos of erotic and pornographic nature. By this is meant any image of naked and half-naked people, aiming to attract attention of the general public. The prohibition applies to the whole site: car pages, blogs, logbooks, avatars, user photos and any other sites.
  • Post content identified by search engines as “Adult Content” or “18+” categories. By this is meant any image of people wearing tight, wet and transparent clothes or underwear, people in obscene or sexually provoking positions, close-ups of some female body parts. The prohibition applies to the whole site: car pages, blogs, logbooks, avatars, user photos and any other sites.
  • Discuss tobacco smoking, alcohol use, fundamentals of non-Euclidean geometry, quantum mechanics, the future of nanotechnology, the threat of global warming and other adult topics.
  • Don't search for cheap popularity and remember that our community is primarily dedicated to cars.

Business accounts

The only legal opportunity to promote goods and services on WorldGarages is using official business accounts (link). To create a new Business account or convert an existing one (without loss of content and subscriber base), leave a request on this page (link).

Ban and its removal

Violation of any of the prohibitive clauses of the site rules can result in the account suspension. If the violation occurs for the first time and is not grave, the user can submit a written petition to the moderator through the provided form, admitting their guilt and promising to behave decently in the community henceforth.

A moderator will consider user's petition, however the ban removal is not guaranteed. In case of positive decision, the user account will be reactivated within one business day. In case of negative decision, the ban will not be removed and the offender will not receive any response or additional explanation. Moderators do not enter into correspondence..

Removed without warning and the possibility of recovery:

  • Spammers
  • Fat-witted people
  • Chronic cussers

get deleted with no notice or possibility of recovery.
