In December 2016, the Japanese brand Suzuki for the first time demonstrated the updated fourth generation subcompact hatchback Swift, and in the autumn of the next year, the world community got acquainted with a special "hot" modification of the Suzuki Swift Sport.
The world premiere of the new product took place in the framework of the annual automobile exhibition in Frankfurt, however, the basic information about the model appeared a week before the opening of the exhibition.

In comparison with the standard version of swift, the charged hatchback received a number of visual innovations, a more elegant interior and a more powerful engine borrowed from the crossover Vitara S. The indicator of the maximum speed is also not announced, however, the manufacturer did the same last time, when he presented a conventional version of the fourth-generation Suzuki Swift.Despite the rumors, the hot hatch is equipped exclusively with front-wheel drive. Suzuki swift Sport is based on the brand platform "Heartect", the manufacture of which was used a special bent the arc of the power frame, made of high-strength steels. Thanks to the use of this platform, the designers managed to reduce the total weight of the car with a mechanical gearbox to 970 kg and with the "automatic" - to 990 kg. At the presentation of the charged hatchback manufacturer did not report on changes in the suspension of a novelty, and hence we can assume that it is fully consistent with the usual Swift – front independent with MacPherson struts and rear semi-independent torsion beam. The steering is supplemented by an electric amplifier, and the brake system is represented by disc brakes of all wheels (with ventilation on the front axle).

Safety



In terms of security, the new product is a complete analogue of the standard Suzuki Swift fourth generation, which received the following set of systems:

  • Front camera with laser radar, thanks to which the adaptive cruise control system operates;

  • Smart system of recognition of possible frontal collision, able to automatically activate the emergency deceleration system;
  • Safety belts with three-point locking system;
  • Fasteners for installation of child seats ISOFIX;
  • LED daytime running lights;
  • Fog lamps;
  • All-around camera and more.
An additional criterion that increases the level of protection of passengers is the presence of programmed deformation zones designed to reduce the impact force during frontal and lateral collisions. Thus, despite its sports orientation, the hatchback is quite capable of performing the role of a car for the whole family.

Conclusion

Currently, among the main competitors Suzuki Swift Sport include the latest generation Renault Clio RS, Opel Corsa OPC and VW Polo GTI, which are offered at a markedly higher price, making the Japanese hatchback extremely profitable investment. In addition, in the Arsenal of Swift Sport is an impressive set of equipment, aggressive appearance, quite a roomy interior and trunk, as well as productive filling, which, though inferior to direct competitors, but is also able to give a lot of pleasure from driving.
